Telangana to Float Tenders Soon for 1 Lakh Indiramma Houses in CURE Area, Says Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy
Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that tenders for 1 lakh Indiramma Houses in the CURE Inner Ring Road area will be invited soon. Land acquisition is in its final stage, with a pilot project planned in 19 Assembly constituencies.

The Telangana government will soon invite tenders for the construction of 1 lakh Indiramma Houses in the CURE (Core Urban Region Expansion) Inner Ring Road area, Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced on Thursday. He said land acquisition for the project is in its final stage and is expected to be completed within the next two to three days under the directions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The government also reiterated that the project will be implemented in phases to ensure every poor family receives a house.

House Pattas Distributed to Beneficiaries in Goshamahal
Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, along with fellow ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Mohammed Azharuddin, Adluri Laxman, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, and local MLA Raja Singh, distributed house ownership pattas to beneficiaries of Double Bedroom Houses constructed in the Goshamahal Assembly constituency on Thursday.
Tenders Soon for 1 Lakh Indiramma Houses
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the state government will soon call tenders for the construction of 1 lakh Indiramma Houses in the Inner Ring Road area under the CURE limits.
He said that, as per the instructions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, land acquisition required for the construction of 1 lakh houses across the limits of three corporations will be completed within the next two to three days.
Pilot Project in 19 Assembly Constituencies
The minister said the Congress government, unlike previous governments, is moving forward with the objective of providing “a house for every poor family.”
As part of a pilot project, construction of at least 500 to 1,000 houses will begin in each of the 19 Assembly constituencies under the CURE area.
He added that additional houses will be sanctioned in the second and third phases of the project.
Government to Build Houses Despite High Urban Land Prices
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy recalled that up to 5,500 houses have already been allocated to each Assembly constituency in rural areas.
He said that even though urban land prices range between Rs.100 crore and Rs.200 crore per acre, the government will ignore the commercial value of the land and construct houses for poor families in the same locality before issuing pattas in their names.
125 Incomplete Houses in Dhoolpet to Be Completed
The minister said the government is completing the construction of 125 houses in the Dhoolpet area that remained incomplete during the previous government.
He further stated that instructions have been issued to the District Collector to identify additional land in nearby areas so that houses can also be sanctioned for the remaining eligible poor families.
He assured beneficiaries that there is no need for anyone to feel disappointed regarding housing allotments.
Poor Families Will Not Be Shifted 30 Kilometres Away
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the Congress government will not follow a policy of shifting poor families 30 kilometres away from cities for housing.
Instead, he said the government is committed to providing houses close to beneficiaries’ livelihoods and within the same Assembly constituency wherever possible.
Minister Recalls Challenge to BRS Leaders
The minister said that the Congress government would construct more houses in just two-and-a-half years than the number built during the 10-year BRS rule.
He also recalled his earlier challenge that if the Congress government failed to achieve this, he would not contest the next elections. According to the minister, BRS leaders have not responded to that challenge so far.
Allegation Against Previous BRS Government
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy alleged that the previous BRS government focused on large projects because it believed there was no benefit in constructing houses for the poor, and accused it of engaging in corruption through such projects.
He said the Congress government is instead using those funds to provide homes for poor families.
The minister reiterated that public welfare is the primary objective of the Congress government and that it aims to achieve a “hut-free Telangana” through the Indiramma Housing Scheme.
