Election Commission Extends Telangana SIR Schedule, Final Voter List on October 12

Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll schedule for Telangana with October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date. As per the revised schedule issued on July 15, 2026, the house-to-house verification by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) has been extended until August 3, 2026, the draft electoral roll will be published on August 10, 2026, and the final electoral roll will be published on October 12, 2026. The revised schedule has been communicated to the Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana, Hyderabad.

Election Commission Revises Telangana SIR Schedule

According to the communication issued from the Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan, Ashoka Road, New Delhi-110001, under Letter No. 23/2026-ERS (Vol.-II) dated 15 July 2026, the Commission informed the Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana, Hyderabad about the revised schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll with reference to October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date.

The letter states:

“I am directed to refer to the Commission’s order No. 23/2025-ERS (Vol.II) dated 14.05.2026, related to schedule of the Special Intensive Revision and your request vide letter no. 868/Elecs.B/B1/2026-59 dated 15.07.2026, and to state that the Commission has decided to revise the said schedule for Telangana as below.”

More Time for Voters During Telangana SIR Process

With the revised schedule, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will continue house-to-house verification until August 3, 2026. On the same day, the rationalization/re-arrangement of polling stations will also be completed.

The draft electoral roll will be published on August 10, 2026 (Monday). Voters can submit claims and objections from August 10, 2026 to September 9, 2026. The notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will continue until October 8, 2026.

The final electoral roll will then be published on October 12, 2026 (Monday).

ECI Directs Wide Publicity of Revised Schedule

The Election Commission instructed that all officials/officers concerned shall be informed of the Commission’s decision. It also directed that wide publicity of the modified schedule shall be made through all available media.

The communication further states that political parties shall also be informed of the modified schedule in writing.

The letter has been signed by Sandeep Kumar, Under Secretary, and a copy has been marked to the Chief Secretary, Telangana.
