Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has made strong remarks against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, questioning the disciplinary action reportedly being considered against her over statements made by her daughter.
Surekha said action should be taken against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy before any action is initiated against her. She questioned whether the Chief Minister’s reported remarks that he would remain in the post for 10 years also amounted to a violation of party discipline.
She further claimed that several ministers and leaders were unhappy with Revanth Reddy’s functioning. Surekha also questioned why complaints and allegations involving other ministers were not being discussed or acted upon.
Referring to allegations against Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and claims regarding commissions involving Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s wife, Surekha asked why no action was being taken on such complaints.
She also questioned whether different standards were being applied to leaders from different social groups. “Is there one justice for BCs and another for other communities?” she asked.
Surekha said her daughter had made the controversial remarks after being provoked by Revanth Reddy and appealed that she should not be subjected to disciplinary action for comments made by her daughter.
The minister’s remarks are likely to intensify the ongoing differences within the Telangana Congress.
