Hyderabad: The stage is set for the hugely-attended Ganesh idols immersion event in Hussainsagar and over 40 lakes and special ponds created for the purpose on Sunday.
Hundreds of cranes have been deployed at the lakes for the smooth immersion of the elephant-headed god of wisdom in various shapes and sizes at the lake, amid tight security.
Teams consisting of hundreds of GHMC employees have been constituted and are being posted at the lakes to ensure hassle-free immersion.
Police too made tight security arrangements by deploying a massive posse of security personnel to ensure orderly and incident-free immersion
Control rooms have been set up for various purposes including traffic regulation and uninterrupted electricity supply during the immersion ceremony besides more than 100 transformers were stationed at Hussainsagar lake and Saroornagar for interruption-free power supply during the immersion.
Massive traffic restrictions have been imposed from Sunday morning to Monday morning in view of the immersion.
People attending the immersion have been advised to follow COVID-19 safety norms and some organisations have made arrangements for the distribution of face masks.
