Electoral Roll Address Correction: Voters Can Submit Form-8 Before Final Roll Update, BLO Visit Guidelines Issued

Election authorities have informed voters who have shifted to a new address that they can apply for correction of address details in the Electoral Roll by submitting Form-8 to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO). The announcement also includes important dates related to the publication of Draft Electoral Rolls, the filing of Claims and Objections, and guidelines regarding visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs).

Voters have been advised to ensure that their address details are correctly reflected in the Electoral Roll before the publication of the Final Roll.

Voters Can Apply for Address Correction Through Form-8

According to the election awareness communication, voters who have shifted to a new address may apply for correction of their address details in the Electoral Roll.

For this purpose, voters must submit Form-8 to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO).

The correction process is intended to ensure that voter information remains accurate and updated in the Electoral Roll.

Important Dates for Electoral Roll Revision

The following key dates have been announced:

  • Draft Electoral Rolls Publication Date: 31.07.2026
  • Claims and Objections Period: From 31.07.2026 to 30.08.2026

Eligible voters are encouraged to review their details after the publication of the Draft Electoral Rolls and submit claims or objections within the specified period if required.

The process flow for Electoral Roll revision has been outlined as follows:

Authorities stated that voters seeking address correction should follow the prescribed process to ensure that changes are reflected in the Final Electoral Roll.

BLO Visit: What Happens If the Voter Is Not Available?

The election authorities also clarified the procedure to be followed during a Booth Level Officer (BLO) visit.

If the voter is not available at the time of the BLO visit, any adult family member may:

  • Receive the Enumeration Form
  • Fill the form
  • Sign the form
  • Submit it subsequently to the BLO

This provision is intended to facilitate smooth collection and submission of voter-related information during the verification process.
