A man who hired a contract killer to avenge his brother’s death ended up being extorted for about ₹6 lakh. The hired hitman, known by the aliases Chor Khaiser and Pahelwan Khaiser, initially agreed to the job for ₹2 lakh, according to the police. Mohd Khaiser, notorious for intimidating and extorting money from innocent people, as well as being involved in activities like land grabbing, was from the Habeeb Nagar area.
“Vanarasi Yadagiri, residing in Gudimalkapur, approached Khaiser and paid him ₹2 lakh to eliminate his brother Vanarasi Raju’s assailants from the 2016 Golconda murder. However, Khaiser kept postponing the act, prompting Yadagiri to demand a refund,” explained the police.
Instead, Khaiser began threatening Yadagiri’s life and demanded more money. He proceeded to extort ₹2 lakh and ₹1.5 lakh in 2021 and 2022, along with additional sums of ₹20,000 and ₹30,000 on separate occasions.
“Khaiser, who had a murder case in 1995, has a record of 22 criminal cases and is believed to have amassed around ₹100 crores through activities like land grabbing and settlements. In 2011, he was ordered to stay away from Hyderabad. After serving a one-year externment, he returned and resumed his criminal pursuits, leading to his detention under the P.D. Act in 2014, where he was held at Cherlapally Prison,” added the police.
Following Yadagiri’s complaint, Habeeb Nagar police registered a case against Khaiser, leading to his arrest.
