Amid heavy rainfall in Hyderabad, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, has urged people to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel during rain, and follow official weather warnings and traffic advisories. On July 30, 2026, the Commissioner personally inspected traffic conditions at Panjagutta and Khairatabad Junctions and issued instructions to officials to ensure public safety during the ongoing heavy rains.

Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar Reviews Traffic Situation

According to a press release dated July 30, 2026, Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS advised the public to closely monitor weather updates and warnings issued by the Meteorological Centre and plan their daily travel accordingly.

On Thursday, the Commissioner personally inspected:

  • Panjagutta Junction
  • Khairatabad Junction

He reviewed vehicle movement and traffic conditions and issued several directions to police personnel deployed on duty.

Hyderabad Police Working with GHMC and Other Departments

The Commissioner said the Hyderabad Police is working in complete coordination with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and all other government departments to ensure that people do not face difficulties due to the heavy rains.

He added that traffic personnel would remain available on the ground continuously to prevent traffic congestion and assist commuters.

Public Asked to Stay Away from Dangerous Areas

Commissioner Sajjanar advised citizens to avoid:

  • Open manholes
  • Fallen electric wires
  • Electric poles during rainfall

He also asked motorists to reduce speed and drive carefully in:

  • Waterlogged low-lying areas
  • Near flyovers

Avoid Going Out Unless It Is an Emergency

The Commissioner said the Meteorological Centre has forecast heavy rainfall for the next two days.

In view of the forecast, he appealed to the public not to step out of their homes unless it is absolutely necessary while it is raining.
