Telangana Minister Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad will be developed into a global city within 10 years, with plans to establish 100 new GCCs and create nearly one lakh jobs.

Duddilla Sridhar Babu said the Telangana Government is pursuing a planned vision to transform Hyderabad into a global city over the next decade through international investments and future-ready infrastructure development. Addressing the “NASSCOM GCC Summit 2026” in Mumbai, the Minister announced that Telangana is targeting the establishment of 100 additional Global Capability Centres (GCCs) this year with potential employment generation for nearly one lakh people.

Sridhar Babu Outlines Hyderabad Global City Vision
Speaking at the NASSCOM GCC Summit 2026 on the theme “Beyond Policy: Designed to Win the Global GCC Race,” Duddilla Sridhar Babu said the government has adopted the “Telangana Rising Vision 2047” framework.
The Minister stated that the goal is to increase Telangana’s contribution to the country’s GDP to 10 percent by 2047.
He said many cities across the world are facing the consequences of unplanned urbanisation and “urban collapse,” but Hyderabad would avoid such challenges through long-term planning and infrastructure expansion.
Major Infrastructure Projects Planned in Hyderabad
The Minister said the Telangana Government has initiated several major projects aimed at transforming Hyderabad into a global city.
These projects include:
- Bharat Future City
- AI City
- Metro Rail expansion
- Development of new airports
- Regional Ring Road (RRR)
- Musi river rejuvenation
- Young India Skills University
- AIKAM Innovation Hub
According to the Minister, these projects are designed to create future-ready infrastructure and strengthen Hyderabad’s global competitiveness.
Hyderabad Emerging as Preferred GCC Destination
Duddilla Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad is emerging as a preferred destination for Global Capability Centres across sectors including:
- Technology
- Banking
- Life sciences
- Semiconductors
- Defence
- FMCG
- Space technology
- Hospitality
The Minister stated that more than 70 GCCs were established in Hyderabad during the previous year, the highest in the country.
He further announced that the government is targeting the launch of 100 additional GCCs this year.
According to him, the expansion could generate employment opportunities for nearly one lakh people.
Telangana Preparing Roadmap for GCC Growth
The Minister stated that the State Government is preparing a comprehensive roadmap to transform GCCs from conventional back-office operations into “global value centres.”
Inviting industrialists to invest in Telangana, he highlighted Hyderabad’s strong talent ecosystem and the availability of skilled professionals across sectors.
He also urged companies to help take the “Made in Telangana” brand to the global stage.
NASSCOM Officials Attend Summit
Among those present at the summit were Srikant and Rajesh Nambiar.
The summit focused on strategies to strengthen India’s position in the global GCC race.
