Indiramma Housing Scheme to Continue in Phases Across Telangana, Second Phase to Begin in June
Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the second phase of the Indiramma housing scheme will begin in Adilabad on June 2.

Telangana Revenue, Housing, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the Indiramma housing scheme will continue as an ongoing process until every eligible poor family in the state gets a permanent house. The minister said the second phase of Indiramma house allotments will begin in Adilabad district on June 2 under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy Reviews Housing and Revenue Issues
As part of district-wise review meetings on revenue and housing matters, Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy conducted a review meeting on Friday at the Housing Corporation headquarters with public representatives and officials from the united Khammam and Warangal districts.
The meeting was attended by:
- Khammam In-charge Minister Vakiti Srihari
- Ministers Dasari Anasuya Seethakka
- Konda Surekha
- Ponnam Prabhakar
- MPs Vem Narender Reddy
- P. Balaram Naik
- District Collectors
- Officials from Housing, Revenue, Forest and Housing Departments
The minister said the government is committed to providing houses to every eligible poor family without shelter.
Telangana Government Providing Rs 5 Lakh Assistance
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy stated that owning a house is not only about shelter but also a symbol of self-respect and a secure future for poor families.
He said the Telangana government is constructing houses for the poor with financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh on a 100 percent subsidy basis.
According to the minister, no other state government in the country is providing such support.
Over 3 Lakh Houses Sanctioned in First Phase
The minister said the first phase of the Indiramma housing scheme was completed successfully.
Key details shared during the meeting include:
- More than 3 lakh houses sanctioned
- Around 2.90 lakh houses grounded
- Approximately 50,000 housewarming ceremonies already completed
- Construction works for more than 2 lakh houses ongoing at different stages
He said the remaining houses are expected to be completed within two months.
Second Phase to Begin From Adilabad on June 2
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the second phase of Indiramma house allotments will begin in Adilabad district on June 2.
He clarified that the programme will not stop with the second phase and would continue in third and fourth phases until every eligible beneficiary receives a house.
The minister also stated that additional houses were sanctioned for constituencies located in ITDA areas.
He said 3,500 houses were sanctioned for each constituency.
Indiramma Houses for Old Beneficiaries Also
The minister announced that beneficiaries who earlier received up to Rs 20,000 assistance under the Indiramma housing scheme in the united Andhra Pradesh period would also be eligible for new Indiramma houses.
Officials were directed to clear bills for people who constructed houses with an area of more than 600 square feet in Indiramma pilot villages.
Minister Issues Instructions on Forest and Land Disputes
The minister instructed officials that poor people constructing Indiramma houses at places where they currently live should not face obstruction from Forest officials or Singareni management claiming the land belongs to them.
He also directed collectors not to obstruct transportation of soil from ponds and tanks for construction of house basements.
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said land collected and pattas issued during the tenure of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy for poor families should be identified and proposals prepared for utilization of remaining land.
Joint Survey Ordered to Resolve Land Boundary Disputes
The minister stated that Khammam and Warangal districts have large forest land areas and several boundary disputes between Revenue and Forest departments.
He directed both departments to conduct joint surveys for permanent resolution of disputes.
The minister also instructed officials to use recently purchased rover survey equipment to resolve disputes involving patta lands, revenue lands, and forest lands.
Transparency Ordered in 2BHK Beneficiary Selection
The minister directed district collectors to complete beneficiary selection for all 2BHK houses under different stages of construction before the end of this month.
He instructed officials to ensure:
- Complete transparency
- No compromise in beneficiary selection
- Benefits only for eligible poor families
Officials were also directed to immediately complete basic infrastructure works such as:
- Electricity
- Drinking water
- Drainage
in double-bedroom housing colonies.
Free Sand for Beneficiaries
The minister instructed officials to ensure free sand provided by the government to Indiramma housing beneficiaries is made available from nearby areas as much as possible.
