Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 1,511 crore in Medchal Malkajgiri district and directed officials to begin Musi River Rejuvenation Phase-2 works from Nagole to Gourelli within 100 days. Speaking at a public meeting in Uppal Bhagayat, the Chief Minister announced major infrastructure projects, Metro Rail expansion plans, administrative reforms, and measures to ensure that poor families are not adversely affected by development initiatives.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a Rs 98 crore Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation office building, launched the CURE-1 app, and reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming Hyderabad into a globally competitive city.

Rs 1,511 Crore Development Projects Launched in Medchal Malkajgiri

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects in Medchal Malkajgiri district.

The projects include:

  • Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation office building at a cost of Rs 98 crore on 10 acres in Uppal Bhagayat Phase-3
  • Alternative roads at AOC Centre at a cost of Rs 960 crore
  • Six-lane flyover at TKR College Junction at a cost of Rs 416 crore

The total value of the development works is Rs 1,511 crore.

The event was attended by Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Damodara Rajanarasimha, and other public representatives.

CURE-1 App Launched for Public Convenience

As part of the Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika programme, the Chief Minister launched the CURE 1 – Initiative (Common Unified Billing and Collection System), known as the CURE-1 app, aimed at improving public services and administrative efficiency.

Musi River Phase-2 Works to Start Within 100 Days

Revanth Reddy directed officials to begin Phase-2 of the Musi River rejuvenation project from Nagole to Gourelli within the next 100 days.

He said that while work has already commenced from Gandipet to Gandhi Sarovar as part of the first phase, the next phase should be launched without delay.

The Chief Minister stated that the Musi River would be rejuvenated on the lines of the Sabarmati River Front in Gujarat, the Yamuna River Front in Delhi, and the Ganga rejuvenation projects in Uttar Pradesh.

He questioned why Musi should not be restored when similar river rejuvenation projects have been successfully undertaken elsewhere in the country.

According to the Chief Minister, rejuvenating the 55-kilometre-long Musi River would not only improve the city but also create employment opportunities for youth.

No Injustice to Poor Families, Says CM

Addressing concerns over rehabilitation, Revanth Reddy assured that no injustice would be done to poor people.

He stated:

  • No poor family would be rendered homeless.
  • Houses would be provided to those who lose homes.
  • Good education would be ensured for their children.

The Chief Minister highlighted the severe hardships faced by people living in the Musi basin due to pollution.

He said residents are facing extremely difficult living conditions because of pollution, waste dumping, industrial contamination, and even the disposal of carcasses.

He also pointed out that Musi pollution is adversely affecting people in Nalgonda district, where residents are already struggling with fluoride-related issues.

Hyderabad Must Develop to International Standards

Revanth Reddy said merely calling Hyderabad an international city is not enough and that development must match international standards.

He stressed the need for major investments in:

  • Metro Rail
  • Electricity infrastructure
  • Police services
  • Sewerage systems
  • Musi River rejuvenation
  • Urban infrastructure

The Chief Minister noted that approximately 1.34 crore people live within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) region, which is also witnessing the establishment of several international companies.

Hyderabad Metro Expansion Plans Announced

The Chief Minister said Hyderabad requires Metro Rail expansion covering 122 kilometres.

The proposed expansion includes:

  • Nagole to LB Nagar
  • Nagole to Owaisi Hospital
  • Nagole to Rajendranagar
  • Rajendranagar to Shamshabad International Airport
  • LB Nagar to Hayatnagar

He questioned why Union Ministers representing Telangana in the Central Government were not extending support for Metro expansion.

Revanth Reddy appealed to Union Ministers and local public representatives to cooperate in development initiatives including Metro Rail, the Regional Ring Road, and Musi rejuvenation.

ORR Area Identified as CURE Region

The Chief Minister said the Telangana government introduced the Telangana Vision 2047 document with the objective of achieving comprehensive development.

According to him, the 2,100 sq km area inside the ORR has been identified as the CURE (Core Urban Regional Economy) region.

For administrative convenience, the area has been decentralized into three corporations:

  • Hyderabad
  • Cyberabad
  • Malkajgiri

He added that the police system has also been decentralized on similar lines.

Commitment to Malkajgiri Development

Revanth Reddy recalled that he could not carry out development works in Malkajgiri to the desired extent during his tenure as a Member of Parliament.

He said that as Chief Minister, he would take responsibility for ensuring Metro expansion and completing all necessary development projects in the region.

The Chief Minister stated:

“Along with the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation building, we have launched development works worth hundreds of crores of rupees. It is my responsibility to provide whatever funds are required for the development of this region. The government is ready to grant all necessary approvals.”

He also recalled that the Uppal Elevated Corridor was named after Bandari Raji Reddy and announced that a statue of Bandari Raji Reddy would also be installed at a Chowrasta.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched Rs 1,511 crore worth of development projects in Medchal Malkajgiri district, directed officials to begin Musi River Phase-2 works from Nagole to Gourelli within 100 days, and announced major Hyderabad Metro expansion plans. He assured that no poor family would suffer due to development projects, promised housing and educational support for affected families, and reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming Hyderabad into a world-class city through infrastructure, administrative reforms, and environmental restoration.
