A habitual two-wheeler theft offender, Shams Bilal @ Bilal (28), was apprehended by the Commissioner’s Task Force, Charminar Zone, along with Gudimalkapur Police on 12-07-2026. Police said the accused committed multiple two-wheeler thefts across the limits of various police stations under the Hyderabad City and Malkajgiri Police Commissionerates. During the operation, police detected 08 two-wheeler theft cases and recovered 07 stolen two-wheelers and 01 mobile phone, with the seized property valued at approximately Rs. 10,00,000.

The total value of the seized property is approximately Rs. 10,00,000.
How the Accused Committed the Thefts
According to the press note, on 12-07-2026, acting on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, Charminar Zone, along with Gudimalkapur Police, apprehended Shams Bilal @ Bilal.
Police said he studied up to the 10th Standard but was not interested in continuing his education. He later started working as a driver and drove a Tata Ace vehicle. After some years, he became addicted to alcohol.
Police alleged that as his income was not sufficient to meet his personal and lavish expenses, he decided to steal two-wheelers to earn easy money.
The accused was previously involved in 18 similar cases. Police stated that he had earlier been arrested by Chandrayangutta Police and Saidabad Police in two-wheeler theft cases, was lodged in Chanchalguda Central Jail, and was later released.
After his release, he worked as a car driver for some time. However, police said that as his earnings were still not sufficient to meet his lavish expenses, he again decided to commit two-wheeler thefts to fulfil his financial needs.
Police further alleged that he habitually targeted two-wheelers parked in public places and residential areas. Taking advantage of the absence of vehicle owners, he allegedly stole the vehicles and either disposed of them or used them for personal purposes.
During interrogation, police said the accused confessed to committing two-wheeler thefts in various police station limits under the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate. Based on his confession, 07 stolen two-wheelers and 01 mobile phone were recovered.
