Hyderabad: In view of rising summer demand, Water Board MD Ashok Reddy directed officials to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply and be prepared to meet increasing demand. During inspections of multiple water filling stations in Hyderabad, he instructed 24-hour monitoring and faster tanker delivery. He also inaugurated a new tanker filling station at Brindavan Colony, Kokapet, as demand continues to rise. The measures are currently being implemented.

MD Ashok Reddy Inspects Water Filling Stations

Ashok Reddy visited several water filling stations under the Water Board limits on Thursday, including:

  • Kondapur
  • Madhapur
  • Ayyappa Society
  • Banjara Hills
  • Somajiguda

With heavy tanker bookings reported at these locations, he directed officials to monitor operations 24 hours and ensure there is no pendency.

Instructions to Improve Tanker Delivery Services

The MD instructed officials to:

  • Arrange tanker delivery in two shifts
  • Ensure delivery immediately after booking
  • Maintain zero pendency in tanker supply

He emphasized that there should be no inconvenience to the public in drinking water supply.

New Filling Station Launched at Kokapet

Ashok Reddy inaugurated a new tanker filling station at Brindavan Colony in Kokapet.

The facility aims to meet increasing drinking water demand in:

  • Manikonda
  • Narsingi

The station has been set up to ensure faster tanker services amid rising bookings in recent days.

Strict Monitoring and Anti-Irregularity Measures

The MD warned that strict action will be taken if any irregularities occur in tanker bookings.

Key measures include:

  • Barcode system on every tanker token
  • Accurate tracking of each trip
  • Installation of CCTV cameras at all filling stations
  • Live monitoring linked to headquarters at Khairatabad

These steps are aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability.

Appeal to Public to Save Water

Ashok Reddy stated that while water resources are currently available in limited quantities, demand has increased significantly.

He urged the public to:

  • Use water sparingly
  • Avoid misuse of water
  • Treat every drop as valuable

He warned that groundwater levels are declining and demand may increase further in the next 30 days.

He emphasized that the situation cannot be managed without public cooperation and requested everyone to adopt water-saving practices.
