I Am the Voice of Telangana People, Not Operated by Anyone: Kavitha
Kavitha says she is the voice of Telangana people and not operated by anyone. Telangana Jagruthi President criticises RRR project, irrigation failures, fee reimbursement delays, and announces farmers’ movement.

Telangana Jagruthi President K. Kavitha on Wednesday asserted that she is the true voice of the people of Telangana and firmly rejected allegations that she is being operated or controlled by anyone. Addressing the media in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Kavitha said her political and social journey is driven solely by public interest.

She clarified that Telangana Jagruthi is not an organisation born out of differences with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), but a people’s movement that has been active for nearly 19 years, consistently fighting for Telangana’s language, culture, traditions, and public causes.
‘No Reason Given for My Suspension From BRS’
Kavitha said she was never informed of the reason for her suspension from the BRS and made it clear that she would never compromise on her self-respect under any circumstances.
While reflecting on the BRS government’s tenure, she acknowledged that mistakes were committed during that period. She said she accepts moral responsibility for the time she was part of the party and apologised to the people of Telangana wherever injustice occurred.

Strong Criticism of RRR Project Alignments
The Telangana Jagruthi President strongly criticised the RRR (Regional Ring Road) project, alleging that road alignments are being changed repeatedly to protect the lands of influential individuals.
She claimed that:
- Poor farmers are being pushed into financial distress
- High Court orders are allegedly being ignored
- Alignments are being altered due to corruption and political pressure
Kavitha said such practices are unfair and unacceptable in a democratic system.
Online Movement and Farmers’ Meeting Announced
Kavitha announced that Telangana Jagruthi will launch an online movement against the RRR project irregularities. She also revealed plans to organise a round table meeting with affected farmers in Hyderabad on January 5.
She said the organisation will intensify its fight until justice is delivered to the farming community.
Irrigation Failures Under Pranahita–Chevella Project
Highlighting irrigation issues, Kavitha said not a single drop of water has reached farmers through the Baswapur reservoir under the Pranahita–Chevella project, despite large-scale land acquisition.
She demanded:
- Immediate completion of irrigation canals
- Fair compensation to displaced farmers
- Strict accountability of officials responsible for delays
Fee Reimbursement Delay Hurting Poor Students
Kavitha also criticised the government for failing to release fee reimbursement amounts, stating that poor students are being humiliated by college managements due to pending fees.
She said the issue reflects the government’s lack of sensitivity towards students from marginalised backgrounds.
Jagruthi Not an Electoral Platform, Yet
Reiterating Telangana Jagruthi’s mission, Kavitha said the organisation is not a platform for immediate electoral politics, but a movement dedicated to public issues.
She confirmed that elections are expected in 2029, and said Telangana Jagruthi will contest at that time. Until then, she stated, the organisation will focus on building a strong cadre and relentlessly fighting for farmers, students, workers, and marginalised communities across Telangana.
