Thief Trying to Enter House Through Exhaust Fan Hole Gets Stuck for an Hour, Rescued by Police and Arrested: Video

A house theft attempt in Kota was foiled when a thief got stuck in an exhaust fan hole while trying to break in. Police arrested the accused and seized a suspicious car.

A daring house theft attempt in Kota’s Borkheda police station area was foiled in a dramatic manner when a youth trying to enter a house got stuck in an exhaust fan opening in Pratap Nagar. The incident took place around 1 am on January 4, and the accused was caught red-handed with the help of family members and local residents.

Exhaust Fan Theft Attempt in Kota Shocks Residents

According to the victim, Subhash Kumar Rawat, he and his wife Were not in the house on January 3 and returned home late at night on January 4. As they opened the main door and were parking their scooty, its light revealed a shocking scene.

They noticed a young man halfway inside the house through the kitchen exhaust fan hole, attempting to break in. When the couple raised an alarm, the accused’s accomplice fled the spot, while the main suspect got trapped in the exhaust opening.

Accused Trapped for Nearly an Hour

Local residents rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion. The accused remained stuck in the exhaust fan hole for nearly one hour. During this time, he allegedly threatened people, claiming that his associates were nearby and warning of serious consequences if he was not released.

Police interrogation later revealed that the accused had been roaming around the house since 12:20 am, looking for an opportunity to commit theft.

Police Arrive After Repeated Calls

The victim stated that repeated calls were made to emergency numbers 100 and 112, but police response was delayed. Eventually, around 1:30 am, the Borkheda police arrived at the scene, safely removed the accused, and took him into custody.

During the search, police recovered a car key from the accused’s pocket, linked to a vehicle bearing number RJ20 UB 3418. The car was seized and found to have police stickers and white curtains, raising suspicion.

Suspicious Car Under Scanner

A local resident and advocate, Aman Singh, informed police that the same car had earlier been seen roaming suspiciously in the lane. A complaint regarding the vehicle had already been filed at the Borkheda police station.

Police have registered a case based on the victim’s complaint and are investigating whether the accused is linked to a larger theft gang operating in the area.

A video of the accused stuck in the exhaust fan hole surfaced on Monday and has since gone viral, sparking discussions about urban theft attempts and neighborhood safety in Kota.
