Fake Police Gang Busted in Quthbullapur; Four Arrested, Two Absconding, Weapons and Police Equipment Seized
A fake police gang was busted in Quthbullapur during a joint operation by Kukatpally CCS and Jagadgirigutta Police. Four accused, including Nagaraju Raghu Varma, were arrested while two remain absconding.

In a major breakthrough, police arrested a fake police gang that had allegedly been posing as police personnel and cheating people while evading the attention of authorities. The arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by Kukatpally CCS and Jagadgirigutta Police. According to Quthbullapur DCP Koti Reddy, four accused, including the main accused Nagaraju Raghu Varma of East Godavari district, were arrested and are being remanded. Two other accused are currently absconding.

Joint Operation by Kukatpally CCS and Jagadgirigutta Police
Addressing a media conference in Quthbullapur, Quthbullapur DCP Koti Reddy said the fake police gang was exposed after allegedly demanding money from a person named Poornachander Rao of Kukatpally in connection with a case registered against him in Haryana in the past.
The incident led to the uncovering of the activities of the pseudo police gang, which had allegedly been deceiving members of the public by impersonating police officials.
Main Accused Nagaraju Raghu Varma Arrested
Police arrested the main accused, Nagaraju Raghu Varma, a resident of East Godavari district, along with three other accused.
According to the DCP, two cases under the PD Act had previously been registered against the main accused.
Police also found that the accused had allegedly been evading law enforcement for the past several years, posing as a fake police officer and committing various offences.
Vehicles, Weapons and Police Equipment Seized
During the operation, police seized the following items from the accused:
- Two cars carrying police stickers
- One country-made firearm
- One air gun
- Several important items and equipment used by the police department
The seized materials were allegedly being used by the gang while impersonating police personnel.
Two More Accused Still Absconding
Police said that two more accused connected to the fake police gang are currently absconding.
Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the remaining suspects.
