Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi had reportedly warned party MLC Mirza Rahmat Baig three days before his expulsion, asking him to sit down with the party leadership and resolve the issue or face disciplinary action.
Speaking while referring to Mirza Rahmat Baig, Owaisi said that the MLC had an opportunity to discuss the matter and resolve the issue amicably. He reportedly cautioned that failure to do so could result in his removal from the party.
Owaisi also made it clear that if the party eventually took disciplinary action, Baig could not later question the decision by claiming that he had been removed unfairly.
The remarks have gained significance following AIMIM’s subsequent decision to expel Mirza Rahmat Baig from the party. The development has triggered considerable political discussion, particularly in the wake of the controversy surrounding an alleged video and a reported cybercrime complaint filed by Baig.

AIMIM later announced Baig’s expulsion with immediate effect and reportedly directed him to submit his resignation as a member of the Telangana Legislative Council.
Owaisi’s remarks made three days before the expulsion are now being viewed as an indication that the party leadership had already cautioned Baig about the consequences of failing to resolve the issue.
Meanwhile, several political leaders have sought greater clarity from AIMIM regarding the reasons behind the action. The controversy continues to generate discussion as further official details from the party and police are awaited.
