The inspection highlighted delays in handling paddy stocks, and officials were instructed to increase operational efficiency immediately.

Surprise Inspection at Pedakaparthi Procurement Centre
As part of the Rabi paddy procurement drive, Commissioner Stephen Ravindra visited the procurement centre set up under the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society at Pedakaparthi in Chityal mandal of Nalgonda district.
During the inspection, he reviewed key logistics and operational details along with District Collector B. Chandrashekhar and centre officials. These included:
- Quantity of paddy received so far
- Availability of hamalis (labourers)
- Truck sheets and tarpaulins
- Vehicles tagged to rice mills
- Overall logistics and transport arrangements
Officials informed that 25,000 quintals of paddy had been received at the Pedakaparthi centre so far. Out of this:
- 7,000 quintals had been procured with tab entry completed
- Around 15,000 metric tonnes of paddy were still available at the centre
Orders to Speed Up Unloading and Transportation
Taking note of the situation, Commissioner Stephen Ravindra directed officials to:
- Increase unloading operations at rice mills
- Improve vehicle rotation
- Expedite transportation of paddy from procurement centres
- Deploy additional lorries and hamalis
District Collector B. Chandrashekhar stated that since Pedakaparthi is a major procurement centre, 10 to 20 additional lorries have been arranged. He also confirmed that:
- Advance information was given to millers to avoid shortage of labour
- Around 30 hamalis were deployed at each procurement centre
- 30 to 35 workers were engaged at rice mills
Focus on 100% Tab Entry and Logistics Management
The Commissioner stressed that tab entry must be completed 100 percent without delay. He also reviewed:
- Use of dryers
- Cleaning processes for paddy
- Availability of gunny bags and tarpaulins
He instructed officials to arrange additional tarpaulins wherever required to protect the paddy stock.
Inspection at Siddhartha Rice Industries, Vattimarthy
Later, the Commissioner visited Siddhartha Rice Industries at Vattimarthy. During the visit:
- Officials informed that 35 workers were engaged at the mill
- He directed the management to increase unloading operations and vehicle rotation
- He reviewed system-based uploading of paddy details and tab entry records
The District Collector confirmed that tab entries are being completed on a daily basis.
Instructions to Officials and Departments
Commissioner Stephen Ravindra further instructed:
- Focus on procurement centres with pending tab entries
- Shift paddy to intermediate godowns if mills face space constraints
- Arrange more vehicles to speed up transportation
He specifically directed Transport Department Deputy Commissioner Vani to ensure additional vehicle availability.
