Hyderabad: Among the many Hindu festivals, Dussehra stands out as a grand and significant observance.
The Telangana government has announced Dussehra holidays for workplaces, colleges, and schools for the academic year 2023–24.
The Dussehra break is scheduled to start on October 14, 2023, a Saturday, and will continue until October 25, 2023, a Wednesday. Schools and institutions are set to reopen on October 26, 2023, Thursday, concluding this extended holiday period.
Meanwhile, Christmas holidays have been reduced from seven to five.
According to this academic calendar, schools in 2023–24 will be in session for a total of 229 days. The academic year began on June 12 and is slated to conclude on April 23, 2024. Furthermore, the Sankranti holidays are set for six days, from January 12 to 17, 2024.
In an inclusive gesture, schools will be closed on Milad un Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, which falls on September 28, 2023, a Thursday.
