Narendra Modi expressed concern over disruptions in the global supply chain due to the crisis in West Asia and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

He stated that India should not remain a silent spectator during difficult global situations and urged citizens to act responsibly in the interest of the nation.

The Prime Minister said:

PM Modi Says Centre Protecting Farmers From Fertilizer Price Rise

Prime Minister Modi said fertilizer prices have increased sharply across the world, but the Central government is acting as a protective shield to ensure Indian farmers are not affected.

According to him, despite a steep increase in international urea prices, the Government of India is procuring urea at approximately Rs 3,000.

However, the government is continuing to supply urea to farmers at old prices.

He stated that the additional financial burden is being fully borne by the Central government.

Government Bearing Economic Losses Instead of Passing Burden to Public

The Prime Minister also said that prices of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas have increased globally due to the war situation.

He added that the impact of the West Asia conflict has been severe, but the government has taken tough decisions over the last two months to ensure that citizens are not burdened.

Narendra Modi said:

“The economic loss caused by the war is being borne by the central government and not on the common man by raising prices.”
