Officials also seized 55 tonnes of mislabelled food products valued at ₹33.94 lakh.

Food safety enforcement teams, accompanied by police personnel, inspected five manufacturing units of the company on Monday, October 19. Sahil Foods manufactures and sells a variety of snacks and savouries.

Officials identified several documentation and licensing deficiencies. Certain food categories manufactured at the facilities were not covered under the existing licences. The company also failed to maintain production and sales records and could not provide shelf-life study reports for products carrying a three-month shelf-life label.

Additionally, testing records for food products and water analysis reports were unavailable.

In view of the alleged violations, TG SAFE suspended the licences and registrations of four units and directed them to stop business operations. Officials collected 11 food samples for laboratory testing to determine possible adulteration.

Further action is expected based on the laboratory results and findings of the investigation.
