Amor Hospitals has entered into a strategic clinical collaboration with South Korea-based Shoealls Co., Ltd., a smart footwear technology company, to explore the use of functional footwear in improving gait, posture, mobility and orthopaedic wellbeing.

Hyderabad: Amor Hospitals has entered into a strategic clinical collaboration with South Korea-based Shoealls Co., Ltd., a smart footwear technology company, to explore the use of functional footwear in improving gait, posture, mobility and orthopaedic wellbeing.
The partnership has been formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and aims to bring together Shoealls’ footwear technology and Amor Hospitals’ clinical expertise to assess its potential applications among Indian patients.
Dr. Kishore B. Reddy, Managing Director of Amor Hospitals, said appropriately selected functional footwear could potentially benefit a significant proportion of orthopaedic patients, particularly those experiencing gait and posture-related concerns.
He said the collaboration would allow the hospital to clinically evaluate the technology and understand which patients could potentially benefit from its use alongside conventional treatment.
Shoealls has developed its proprietary Medichio vibration chip technology, which is incorporated into its functional footwear. According to the company, the technology has been certified as a Class 2 medical device in South Korea under the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS), is listed with the US FDA and is CE-registered in Europe.
Under the MoU, the two organisations will explore professional foot measurement and fitting, clinical education, research exchange and the possibility of future studies related to foot health, gait and mobility.
Amor Hospitals will also provide clinical feedback on the suitability and potential use of the functional footwear among Indian patients.
Lee Cheonggn, Founder and Chairman of Shoealls Co., Ltd., said India offers an important opportunity to explore the convergence of functional footwear, healthcare and smart wellness. He added that the partnership with Amor Hospitals would combine the company’s technology with the hospital’s clinical expertise and create opportunities for further clinical learning and innovation.

The collaboration comes amid growing interest in healthcare technologies aimed not only at treating medical conditions but also at supporting mobility, independence and quality of life.
Shoealls is also working on next-generation smart footwear and digital healthcare technologies, including AI-enabled platforms and self-powering technologies based on walking.
The organisations clarified that any future clinical or observational studies resulting from the collaboration will be conducted under separate protocols and will be subject to applicable ethical, legal and patient-consent requirements.
The partnership is non-exclusive, and Amor clinicians will not be required to recommend Shoealls products. Any clinical recommendation will continue to be based on independent professional medical judgment.
For Amor Hospitals, the collaboration is intended to explore the potential intersection of clinical medicine, mobility science and emerging health technologies to support better movement and everyday wellbeing.
