Hyderabad: Activist Kashaf detained under PD Act; shifted to Cherlapally Jail

27-year-old, digital creator Kashaf has been charged of creating hatred between two communities through his inflammatory speeches.

Hyderabad: Activist Syed Abdahu Quadri alias Kashaf, who raised ‘sar tan se juda’ slogan, has been detained under the Preventive Detention Act. City Police Commissioner CV Anand issued an order in this regard.

27-year-old, digital creator Kashaf has been charged of creating hatred between two communities through his inflammatory speeches.

According to the order, Kashaf was habitually posting provocative and inflammatory messages and videos on social media through his Twitter account.

On August 23, Kashaf along with a number of supporters reportedly staged a dharna in front of the Office of the Commissioner of Police protesting against an offensive video by Goshamahal legislator T Raja Singh.

Police claimed that the activist instigated the protestors to raise provocative and inflammatory slogans as “Gustakh-e-Rasool ki eik hi saza, sar tan se juda” (beheading is the only punishment for a person who disrespects the Prophet) and added that Kashaf has created hatred and ill-will between two communities.

Police shifted Kashaf to the Central Prison in Cherlapally after arrest.
