Anantapur: In a significant relief for 536 workers associated with the Sri Sathya Sai Drinking Water Supply Scheme in Anantapur district, their salaries, which had been delayed for seven months, have finally been released, thanks to the timely intervention of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

The workers had been on strike for the past two days, protesting against the non-payment of their wages, which had left many in financial distress. Their plight came to the attention of Pawan Kalyan, who took swift action. He directed the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department to release ₹30 crore to address the pending salaries.

Following his orders, the necessary funds were sanctioned, and the workers, who had been struggling without their due earnings for months, were finally paid. This intervention has brought an end to the workers’ strike and restored normalcy to the water supply scheme operations.

Pawan Kalyan’s prompt response has been widely appreciated by the workers, who expressed gratitude for his efforts in resolving the issue.
