Major IPS Reshuffle in Telangana: Government Transfers 12 Senior Police Officers, Issues New Postings

The Government of Telangana has announced a major IPS reshuffle, transferring and posting 12 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across key police departments in the state. The orders were issued through G.O.Rt.No. 931, General Administration (Spl.B) Department, dated June 29, 2026, based on proposals received from the Director General of Police, Telangana, Hyderabad. Several officers have also been given full additional charge (FAC) of senior posts until further orders.

The Director General of Police communicated that all Members of Service should:

• Sri S.M. Vijay Kumar to assume charge of Joint Commissioner of Police (L&O), North Range, Hyderabad City.
• Ms. Ch. Sindu Sarma to hand over charge as Joint Director, ACB and assume charge as SP, CI Cell, Intelligence.
• Sri Y. Sai Sekhar to assume charge as Superintendent of Railway Police, Secunderabad.
• Sri Chennuri Rupesh to hand over charge as DCP, SM&IT, Hyderabad City, and assume charge as SP, CID.

The Government of Telangana has carried out a major IPS reshuffle, transferring and posting 12 senior IPS officers through G.O.Rt.No. 931 dated June 29, 2026.
